Dedicated Year 12 and 13 students have taken a remarkable step towards environmental stewardship by planting native saplings throughout our school grounds, creating vital habitats that will support local wildlife for generations to come. This hands-on initiative beautifully embodies the Catholic principle of being faithful stewards of God`s creation, as emphasised in Laudato Si`, where Pope Francis calls us to care for our common home with both urgency and love. As students carefully tended to each sapling, they demonstrated the values of responsibility, community service, and reverence for all living things—core tenets of Catholic social teaching that remind us we are called to protect the most vulnerable, including the creatures and ecosystems that depend on our care. The diverse species planted will provide food and shelter for birds, insects, and small mammals, transforming our school site into a thriving sanctuary that serves as a living classroom for understanding interconnectedness and our role as guardians of biodiversity.
