Curriculum Outline
  • Key Stage 3
    • within key stage 3 students focus on three core topics including; number, algebra and shape. Improving numeracy is incorporated into each topic in addition to skills required for key stage 4, such as problem solving and understanding mathematical concepts.
  • Key Stage 4:
    • students follow either the higher or foundation programme, which cover a range of topics, including; number, shape, algebra, statistics, geometry and measure. Students focus on worded problems and continue to develop the skills required to understand mathematical concepts.
  • Key Stage 5:
    • consists of 6 units, including core 1-4, involving a heavy focus on algebra and functions; but also including geometry, sequences and differentiation. Students will then study two optional units, mechanics and statistics.
