The high speed, competitive world of business requires adaptable, resilient individuals with a creative mindset and a broad range of employability skills. Students studying BTEC Business at St John Fisher School will develop these skills and their knowledge of business through a variety of practical and assignment based activities.

Students will understand the importance of small business enterprises and their contribution to the UK economy. They will be required to establish their own, innovative idea for a business start-up and produce a realistic business plan that could help them raise finance. Creative students will enjoy learning about branding and promotion and designing their own marketing campaign for a product or service; students will also learn the art of adding value and pitching to an audience. The finance unit enables students to put their analytical skills to the test while learning how to raise finance and manage money. Businesses cannot survive without customers; students will gain essential communication and teamwork skills by engaging in customer service role play scenarios. Business studies offers something for everyone and provides a solid foundation for all learners whether they are hoping to start their own business, have a career with a global company or be Sir Alan Sugar’s next apprentice.
