Press Release: St John Fisher Catholic Comprehensive School GCSE Results 2019

St John Fisher School is thrilled to announce our best ever 2019 Key Stage 4 Results.

  • 56% of students achieved a grade ‘4’ pass or higher in both English and Maths
  • 70% of all students achieved a grade ‘4’ pass or higher in English
  • 63% of all students achieved a grade ‘4’ pass or higher in Maths
  • 37% of all grades were equivalent to grade ‘5’ pass or higher
  • 56% of all grades were equivalent to grade ‘4’ pass or higher

This included the following outstanding student achievements:

  • Marcus Hernandez (six grade ‘9’, one ‘Distinction *’, one grade ‘8’, one grade 7’, one grade ‘6’)
  • Ruby Trott (one grade ‘9’, four grade ‘8’, four grade ‘7’, one grade ‘4’)
  • Weronika Wszola (one grade ‘9’, three grade ‘8’, two grade ‘7’, two grade ‘6’, one grade ‘5’, one ‘Merit’)
  • Manu Sibichan (one grade ‘9’, four grade ‘8’, one grade ‘7’, two grade ‘6’, one grade ‘5’, one ‘Merit’)
  • Khateba Aktar (one grade ’9’, two grade ‘8’, two grade ‘7’, four grade ‘’6’) 

We are delighted with these results, as they are proof of the changed culture and extremely high aspirations at St. John Fisher. Headteacher Dympna Lennon said that ‘I am incredibly proud of my students and would like to thank their families, primary teachers and my staff for all their efforts.’ Head of Year 11, Stephanie Morris, said ‘We are thrilled with the hard work and effort our students have put in to secure their GCSE results.’

Many of our pupils will continue being part of SJF’s community in our sixth form, and we will empower them to achieve their dreams; others are going on to local grammar schools, colleges and apprenticeships. We wish all our students luck in their bright futures.
